Abstract:

Simple Ohm's law eta j_|| = E_|| is not satisfied in a/2 is less than or equal to r leq a region of the REPUTE-1 RFP plasma. Fluctuation-induced electric fields, such as <tilda{upsilon} x tilda{B} >, are not sufficient to account for eta j_|| - E_|| at the edge. It is implied that current-diffusions due to magnetic fluctuations, carried by fast electrons rather than bulk cold electrons, sustain the edge parallel equilibrium current.
