Abstract:

The effect of the continuous eigenvalue of the Vlasov equation on the c ross field ion thermal flux i s investigated. The continuum contribution due to the toroidal drift resonance is found to play an important role in ion transport particularly near the edge , which may apply to the interpretation of the sharp increase of ion heat conductivity near the periphery observed in large tokarnaks.
