Abstract:

Applications of Radio Frequency to a tokamak diverter plasma for improvement of its reactor relevancy is studied and proposed. RF is applied to a diverter region of a tokamak by use of wave guide launchers on consideration of a reactor environrment . Since the ponderomotive force is dependent on the charge to mass ratio of ions, various useful applications are considered. They covers some of the recent key issues in the developmental research toward nuclear fusion: the reduction of the heat load on the diverter plate, improvement of tritium inventory, impurity control, and helium ash removal.
