Abstract:

The model of electrostatic drift instabilities (short wave drift-dissipative and convective drift instability in kinetic limit) is revised on the base of the new theoretical results in plasma physics. The results show that electrostatic drift waves in FRC will be unstable with the very small probability. Arguments are presented in favor of Alfven-type instability in inhomogeneous high beta FRC plasma as a source of anomalous transport.
