Abstract:

Comparative studies were carried out to elucidate the most essential parameter(s) for control of density profiles in LHD heliotron and JT-60U tokamak plasmas. Clear differences and similarities of the characteristics of density profiles have been found among both plasmas in the low collisionality regime. Role of turbulence was experimentally investigated in both devices during change of density profiles under scanning neutral beam (NB) heating power. Changes of spectrum structure and power were observed.
