Effect of positron in two stream instabilities

Two-stream instabilities in electron-positron-ion plasmas are studied. The relative motion of ions with respect to electron-positron plasma and of positrons with respect to electron-ion plasma can give rise to such instabilities. The growth rates depend upon the percentage concentration of different species. Comparison of this work with the two stream instabilities studied previously in pure electron-positron and electron-ion plasmas is also discussed. The relevance of the present investigation to astrophysical and laboratory plasmas is pointed out.
