A theoretical treatment is presented to study the influence of a single mode, linearly polarized laser field on the dynamics of fast (e, 2e) collisions in a hydrogenic ion target [1, 2] in the framework of a distorted wave approximation. The incident and outgoing particles are considered in the framework of Coulomb ā€“ Volkov approximation [3 - 5], while the dressed state of the target ion is constructed using first order perturbation theory. The triple differential cross sections ( TDCS ) are studied for this (e, 2e) process accompanied by the transfer of ā€˜lā€™ photons with the field direction parallel to the incident momentum. The net effect of the laser field is to suppress the field free cross sections ( TDCS ). Detailed results will be presented at the Conference.
