Abstract:

An introduction is given to the theory for neoclassical transports mainly in an axisymmetric tokamak. The bootstrap current, which has been experimentally observed in tokamaks and helical systems, is generated by balancing the parallel viscosity force and frictional force. In axisymmetric tokamaks, the banana diffusion is also caused by the parallel viscosity force. The bootstrap current in helical systems is briefly mentioned.
