Second Announcement (First Announcement)

November 5-8, 2019
Ceratopia Toki, Toki-city, Gifu, Japan

Scope

The International Toki Conference is a topical meeting dedicated to a specific subject related to plasma and fusion science. The series began in 1989 with the founding of the National Institute for Fusion Science and has been held on an annual basis ever since.
In recent years, several new experiments have started and construction of new devices are going forward around the world. Cooperation among experiments, theory, and simulations has become more important. Technological development, built on fundamental research topics, will be further utilized for applied plasma research and large-scale plasma science for fusion reactors. The conference topics cover a wide range of research in various plasma and fusion sciences. In addition, a special session on applied superconductivity and cryogenic systems (focusing on high-temperature superconductors) is planned to be held.

Topics to be covered

  1. Magnetically-Confined Plasmas
  2. Inertially-Confined Plasmas
  3. Fusion Engineering and Reactor Design
  4. Basic Plasma Research and Plasma Application
  5. Fundamental Theory and Simulation Techniques
  6. Space and Astrophysical Plasmas
  7. Applied Superconductivity and Cryogenic Systems

Plenary speakers

Richard J. Kurtz (Pacific Northwest National Laboratory)
Ernst Wolfgang Stautner (GE Global Research)
Kenichi Kurihara (National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology)
Masaki Osakabe (National Institute for Fusion Science)

Meeting format

The meeting will consist of plenary, invited, and contributed oral presentations, and poster sessions. The abstracts will be selected by the International Program Committee as either oral or poster presentations. The official language of the meeting is English.

Date and location

ITC28 will be held at Ceratopia Toki (4 Takayama, Tokitsu-cho, Toki-city, Gifu 509-5121, Japan) from November 5, 2019 through November 8, 2019. Participants and their companions are welcome to join in the conference banquet which will be held at Ceratopia Toki (conference site) on November 7, 2019.

Paper Submission (Conference Proceedings)

Original or review articles related to the conference topics are encouraged to be submitted to Plasma and Fusion Research( http://www.jspf.or.jp/PFR/ ), which is an Open-Access journal published by the Japan Society of Plasma Science and Nuclear Fusion Research. Each submitted paper will be put through a peer-review process, and those accepted will be published as regular articles in the journal. The submission page will be opened after the conference.
*Note:
- The first author of the publication paper is expected to be the same person as the first author of the presentation at the conference.
- The submission fee and the reprint fee are NOT included in the registration fee.
- Please submit the article through the conference web site.
