The National Institute for Fusion Science established the Public Relations Office in 2023 to promote activities to open and share research and development results with society, outreach activities, which are interactive communication activities for researchers and the public to interact with each other and share the needs of society, and activities to fulfill historical evaluation of fusion research and accountability to society.

Scientific and Public Relations Committee

The Scientific and Public Relations Committee disseminates the research and development results of the NIFS widely through press releases, websites and publications, with the aim of enhancing the NIFS's presence in both the areas of interdisciplinary research and fusion research and development.

Social Engagement Committee

The Social Engagement Committee, in order to promote interactive outreach activities, conducts facility tours, disseminates information through scientific events, conducts educational activities in cooperation with the local community through craft workshops and experimental classes, and conducts other activities to deepen cooperation with the local community.

Archives Committee

The Archives Committee is responsible for the following activities in the Fusion Science Archives Office to investigate, collect, organize, and store historical materials related to fusion science research, and the appropriate disclosure of historical materials related to fusion research. The committee supports the smooth operation of the Fusion Science Archives Office.

Educational Collaboration Committee

The Educational Collaboration Committee promotes educational collaboration activities with high schools by providing opportunities for students to visit NIFS and learn about the cutting edge of science through lectures and tours of research facilities by researchers. The committee also conducts on-site lectures on request from high schools.
